Hello,

As part of a thesis I plan on completing next year I am very interested to do a preliminary poll here on Reddit on your relationship to Luxembourg and elections. Also, wondering if everyone here knows that after a period of time all residents are eligible to vote on local/non-national elections.

Thank you for participating.

edit: forgot part of the text.

edit 2: option 4 should read: I am NOT Luxembourgish, I am a resident eligible to vote and VOTE in municipal, local and european elections (either or).

edit 3: If you are **not sure if you have the right to vote,** check this link: [https://www.wort.lu/fr/luxembourg/quatre-choses-a-savoir-sur-les-elections-communales-6130efbede135b9236c0663d](https://www.wort.lu/fr/luxembourg/quatre-choses-a-savoir-sur-les-elections-communales-6130efbede135b9236c0663d) that u/post_crooks so kindly shared with us.

  1. Thank you all for taking the poll, please do give the post an upvote if you’d be so kind, to make sure more people are also given a chance to see it and participate.

    thank you!

edit: 300+ PEOPLE HAVE TAKEN THIS POLL, BUT WE ONLY HAVE 25 UPVOTES. PLEASE **CONTINUE TO UPVOTE TO GET MORE RESPONSES,** THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!

  2. All residents will be able to vote on local elections without a waiting period. Luxembourg citizens are registered automatically, while foreign residents need to register themselves. Vote is compulsory for those who are registered.

  3. Where is the choice for I’m not Luxenberg us, I’m a resident, I’m eligible and yet I still don’t vote because reasons
