“Fish and chips” at The Game Sportsbar in the Kinepolis cinema…17€ for this

  1. Still one Euro cheaper than the aperol spritz at kyosk during the European Championship

  2. What were you expecting? Some proper Fish and Chips? At the Game Sportsbar? In the Kinepolis cinema?

  3. Lol, I went there once and had the wings.
The sauce was so disgusting, and after sending it back and getting an ‘improved’ version, it still tasted like sh*t

  4. Welp, 2005 some bars had to pay 10.000 euro rent per month 🤷 And they same amount if they had to pay franchise fees.

  5. put those pictures and titles on google reviews! surprisingly not many people do it, so a bad a review has even more impact. I started doing it and a few places have actually lost some rating points… and they deserved it!

but also rate the good ones and praise them 🙂

  6. well! We gotta learn our lessons.
Lux = expensive shitty frozen food.

I went to Victorine and bought what they called “pad thai”. It had udon noodles (who uses udon noodles in pad Thai) and faux chicken. Then they heated it for a long time and it tasted like rubber. It was around 10€ I think. And I also had the oldest and driest piece of marble cake slice ever worth 3€.

  7. I once wanted 6 chicken nuggets really bad. Went to McDonald’s to satisfy my craving and it was €4.10.
    It’s €2 here.
My jaw dropped but I really wanted them

  8. I really don’t like The Game. It is so overpriced and the qualjty of the food has never satisfied me. Never really understood why there are always a lot of people.

  9. I think it often depends on what you order where.
For example, in defense of the Game (and pretty much all of the Group manso restaurants), they are mostly known for their meat and burgers.
And personally, I have to say that I’ve never eaten badly at a Manso locale, but yes, it depends on what you take. Things like the starters stuff (like fish sticks, mozarella sticks, onion rings etc), is probably always frozen and overpriced, so I kind of get that part.
For 17 EUR, you should’ve tried the stuffed burger, or the pulled pork fries, they are pretty nice.
But overall, yes, Luxembourg food is extremely expensive.
Now with the ‘Fouer’ back in town, go check that out. 6 EUR for pretty much a Mc Donalds Hamburger.

  10. The Game is disgusting and completely overpriced. I had meals in sports bars situated in 5* hotels in global hubs like Tokyo, Dubai or New York that were less expensive than The Game.
The owner Manso Group provides the exact same food at a dozen restaurants with slight variations. Example PiriPiri and Ela (same food, same recipe and same side disges except for the meat marinade)
I wish we had a true sports bar in town

  11. Their “team building” plate is ok and it cost 6,50~ per person. But yeah double that if you want a beer with that. Kirchberg isn’t really the greatest place to eat or drink. If you just take the tram to go to the center there are quite a few places cheaper and better

  12. Honestly, what did you expect in kirchberg? Moat people qorking there get paid filthy amounts of money, they don’t give a damn about prices and in that case, wo do the restaurants…
Plus, the game isn’t what it used to be anyways…

  13. And you know who does not see any (or very little) of that money?

Wait and kitchenstaff while the owner has the garage full of luxury cars and goes on vacation 5 times a year. But paying your staff more is not possible in these times.

  14. I’m currently on vacation in Colombia. Here a full meal costs around 2-3 euros (converted). Coming back will be a pain in the ass.

  15. This is mainly the reason why I prefer home cooked meals since coming to Luxembourg. Also the pandemic didn’t help my eagerness to go to restaurants
