**On September 19, the Cumbre Vieja volcano began an eruption that leaves an intense chronology since it is active. We collect its evolution in the 60 days of activity**
On September 19, the Cumbre Vieja volcano entered a volcanic eruption that did not give respite to the island of La Palma in 60 days. During this time, it was necessary to get acquainted with the forced marches with the different phases of an eruptive process, a technical and extensive vocabulary and to note a series of landmarks to collect in this chronology of the La Palma volcano.
**When did the eruption of La Palma volcano begin?**
Since the eruption began that Sunday in September at 15:10, an hour later on the peninsula, the evolution of the situation has been followed live.
On the same day, at night, the first teams from the **Military Emergency Unit (UME)** arrived. And just two days later, the evictions of potentially affected neighbors forced 5,700 people to leave their homes and part of their lives. Flight cancellations, blockages … realities that made headlines and that we remember now.
The [lava reached the sea](https://www.newtral.es/volcan-la-palma-lava-mar/20210927/) on September 28, a minute later, at eleven o’clock at night, in the archipelago. This landing of the coladas threatened to become a reality for a few days until it slowly overflowed into a rocky area of Tazacorte, on Los Guirres beach.
The chronology of La Palma volcano, 60 days later, shows us how this beach changes every day, as the streams feed the lava delta in their collision with the sea and bury Los Guirres in lava. And it is that at the beginning of October there was a diversion of a new language that devastated on the way hectares and hectares of crops to reach the coast in three points.
And the people? Islanders are awaiting the arrival of direct aid promised by the Government and local authorities, while intermittent seismic activity and air quality are changing daily courses, face-to-face courses and FFP2 masks in the Aridane Valley.
