According to a report from CoinShares, cryptocurrency investment products recorded inflows of $224 million last week. The data indicated an unexpected dominance of European markets in global activity during that period, coinciding with a significant surge for XRP.

Switzerland led regional inflows with $157.5 million, a figure that substantially exceeded the $27.5 million observed in United States markets. This pattern marked an unusual geographic shift for institutional crypto investments. XRP was the standout asset for the week, attracting $119.6 million in inflows. That weekly total was its largest since the middle of December 2025, bringing its total inflows for the year to $159 million, which represents 7% of its assets under management.

Other major assets showed varied results. Bitcoin attracted $107.3 million in inflows for the week, despite starting April with net outflows of $145 million. In contrast, Ethereum experienced outflows of $52.8 million, extending a recent period of challenges. Solana saw inflows of $34.9 million, bringing its year-to-date performance to 10% of assets under management. Products offering short exposure to Bitcoin also attracted $16 million, their largest weekly inflow since mid-November 2025. The report noted that some outflows later in the week were linked to stronger-than-expected retail sales data and shifting investor expectations.

The regional shift in investment flows occurs as regulatory approaches continue to differ across jurisdictions. A major crypto market structure bill passed the United States House of Representatives in mid-2025 but has since stalled in the Senate. In late 2025, spot XRP exchange-traded funds launched in the U.S., providing institutional investors with regulated access. The concurrent timing of XRP’s performance surge and European dominance in flows suggests investors may be adjusting positions based on regional regulatory developments.

Separate data indicates Bitcoin exchange-traded funds began the current week strongly, adding $471.3 million in investments on Monday. That single-day haul was the largest for these funds since February.
