This was not a protest. This was a riot organized by football hooligans who were then joined by young people who just wanted to loot and cause chaos. The majority of people apprehended by the police were minors.

The “protest” was a mixed gathering of anti-vaxxers, conspiracy nuts, right-wing extremists, football hooligans and local hoodlums. The police let the protest go on as it slowly turned into a riot, but intervened when firemen and police officers were attacked. In the end, there were seven wounded, some of whom were police officers. Over fifty arrests were made.
I am anti-corona myself.
Riots are ridiculous but I do find lockdowns at this point of the pandemic in overwhelmingly vaccinated countries surprising

Are we the only ones in Europe where these ridiculous riots occur every time the government talks about new measures (okay maybe except for France)? I didn’t hear about Austrians or Belgians rioting and looting when the gov was talking about 2G, but maybe I just missed it. I sometimes really feel like we are the rednecks of Europe.

Yeah, now corona is fone for good. Everyone staying home, doctors and nurses doing 72h shifts and the world avoiding more deaths through extensive vaccination and the key was burning shit down.

I find a little comfort knowing that they are the minority. But sadly a minority group can still do a lot of damage…

Quite embarrassing that my countrymen are so pathetically stupid as to protest a disease by destroying government property.
Jokes aside, I do regret that people can be this stupid. In any country, but of course, particularly in my own. Most would want to believe people from their own country can’t be as bad as those in other countries, but in this regard we’re all the fucking same.
