Joint Center Senior Researcher, Financial Regulation and Policy, Cantrell Dumas was quoted in the New York Amsterdam News discussing the March employment and unemployment data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

From the article: “Unemployment for Black women saw a sharp decrease from 7.7% to 6.3%, but the unemployment rate for Black men, however, unfortunately increased from 7.6% to 7.9%,” Dumas noted. He added, “The overall unemployment rate was 4.3% but the overall Black unemployment rate was 7.1%. It’s still the highest among all racial groups, with whites at 3.6%, Hispanics at 4.8%, and Asians at 3.7%.”
