Three men who allegedly fled from a stolen car following a police chase in Sydney’s west have been arrested and weapons allegedly found inside the vehicle have been seized.
On Saturday, just before 2:30pm, a stolen white Audi was spotted on the Great Western Highway at Wentworthville, police said.
A police pursuit unfolded when officers from Strike Force Raptor, set up to combat organised crime, tried to stop the car.
“During the pursuit, the occupants of the vehicle were seen throwing fuel jerry cans from the vehicle onto the M4 Motorway, Silverwater,” NSW Police said in a statement.
“The vehicle was rammed by police along Hill Road, Lidcombe, where the three men ran from the vehicle.”

Officers assisted by PolAir and the dog squad chased the men on foot and the trio were later arrested.
Vision obtained by the ABC shows one of the men being detained by several police officers underneath the motorway where the stolen Audi had been stopped.
Police allege a semi-automatic rifle and a pistol were found inside the vehicle.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing with police due to provide more details later this evening.
