  1. Fun fact: her early years were spent with the communist loyal youth movement FDJ. Perhaps for the sake of community and/or leadership training, but one wonders what parts stayed with her.

  2. Fun fact: the real name of Merkel’s paternal grandfather was Ludwig Kaźmierczak. Ludwig was born in Poznań and emigrated to Berlin after Poland regained independence, unlike the rest of his family he identified himself more like a German. After some time he changed his name to Kasner

    I’m Spanish and we never ever ever do that. I know about a lot of countries that do it but really didn’t expect Germany to be one of them.
