Queen Elizabeth II reportedly scolded Meghan Markle for being mean to an employee.

According to royal historian Hugo Vickers, Her Majesty went over to the Duchess of Sussex’s home to tell her to be nice to the people working for The Firm.

“She apparently was rude to one of the under-gardeners and the head gardener went up to the Queen and reported this and the Queen got in her car and went down and tore a strip off her because you cannot be rude to staff,” the expert said during an appearance on the “Daily T” podcast.

“[Meghan] had been rude to the gardener, so she needed to be ticked off, put in her place,” Vickers claimed.

In Susan Page‘s upcoming book, The Queen and Her Presidents: The Hidden Hand That Shaped History, the author alleged Elizabeth knew Meghan wasn’t good for the monarchy when she started dating Prince Harry.

“Her Majesty had become wary of Meghan as an opportunist — was ‘on to her from the start,’ the aide said — and one with public relations skills that left the palace’s outdated press operation in the dust,” Page wrote via Fox News Digital.

In Vickers’ biography Queen Elizabeth II: A Personal History, he claimed the late leader of England cautioned her grandson to go slow in his relationship with the Suits actress.

“The Queen herself suggested that Harry should wait a year [to get engaged],” the journalist wrote in a passage from the book via Sky News.

“He did not take her advice. Instead, as we know, the wedding went ahead just over six months after the couple’s engagement,” Vickers added.

Only a few years after tying the knot in May 2018, the couple announced they were leaving England for life in California.

“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution,” Harry and Meghan in a January 2020 statement.

“We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the royal family and work to become financially independent, whilst continuing to fully support Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment,” they added.

Elizabeth addressed the duo’s exit in he own statement. “Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working members of the royal family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as family while remaining a valued part of my family,” she said.
