Āris Dzērvāns, head of the Information Centre at the Ministry of the Interior, said at a press conference on Tuesday, April 14, following a crisis management meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, that currently “112 Latvia” app operations have been significantly improved – security measures have been strengthened.
Following a warning about a potential threat in Latvian airspace on March 30, the operation of the website and the “112 Latvia” app was temporarily disrupted due to a surge in public interest in additional information.
Tests show that the website can now handle 10,000 simultaneous users. That is approximately twice as many as during the system disruption, Dzērvāns said.
At the same time, he emphasised that work to increase the system’s capacity is continuing.
