“Rather than find out why an employee wants to leave, they are about finding out what motivates them to stay”
Isn’t that the same thing though, two sides of the same coin? e.g. what would motivate me to stay is more money/leave/benefits, what’s making me want to leave is you’re not giving me more money/leave/benefits.
I think this is a great idea. Even without a “stay interview” just an informal chat between management/HR and the employees can be great.
People are motivated by more than just money and it’s a great idea to ask people what they are motivated by or what they feel they should be getting from their job
Any decent employer is already doing this on a regular basis
I would have just called these a check in. If your management aren’t checking in and allowing you the space to speak candidly about your role every quarter or so, they should be.
Let$ think about how to k€€p our €mployee$
If it was anonymous I would probably be fine with it. My workplace was toxic because everyone pretty much gave their suggestions to improve the business to the management, who completely shot down all of the suggestions. Doing a stay interview with them wouldn’t make me happy because they stubbornly think employees must love the long hours and lack of breaks.
– money
– rem9te working
– work life balance
– no micromanagement bullshit
