Probably because of the added importation costs due to Brexit
It’s been getting better and cheaper for a few years now and has gone from a few niche producers to more mainstream. It’s also becoming more fashionable as people are realising it’s usually pretty good.
Right. For people who’ve been drinking decent wine for years, but only from recognised countries (france, spain, chile, argentina, italy, new zealand, south africa), what do I buy next time I’m in waitrose to taste a “british” wine?
What’s my UK equivalent of a nice £12 bottle of malbec or shiraz?
England makes wine?
Who’s gonna pick the grapes though if this trend actually continues?
The pandemic triggered massive at home boozing… no “despite” here.
