It shuts later this month
Supermarket giant Iceland is shutting one of its Stoke-on-Trent stores. The branch – on Charles Street, in Hanley – is shutting for good on Saturday 25 April.
It has blamed the move on Stoke-on-Trent City Council wanting to ‘redevelop the area’.
An Iceland Foods spokesperson said: “We can confirm that the Iceland Foods store, on Charles Street, Hanley, will be closing on 25 April due to the council’s wish to redevelop the area. Existing colleagues have been offered the opportunity to migrate to other roles within our network. The closest is The Food Warehouse store, at Century Retail Park, Hanley, and we look forward to continuing to serve customers in the local area.”
