In Wakefield, no leaders can claim to be an “electoral asset”, but Johnson’s rating must be giving 211 Tory MPs pause for thought.

Johnson, but not necessarily the Tories. Johnson is bad but getting rid of him does not mean the end of his legacy, the party is still filled with those who have become emboldened by his corruption and those who share his views. Johnson is the cause of the rot infesting the Tories but it is going to take a lot more than getting rid of him to change the party.
