Does anybody know the name of this insect? Or anything about it? I am about to buy a house in sweden but found some of those during the besiktning

  1. Either a pälsänger or a mjölbagge depending on size and color (mjölbaggar are generally smaller and more black/brown).

Hard to tell from the image.

Pälsänger is a harmless bug that likes textiles and dust, particularly their larva.
Mjölbagge likes flour and is usually due to old grain being left somewhere (like behind a cupboard or similar).

  2. I’ve found a couple of these at home this spring. They seem to live on my balcony because they’re certainly not living in the house. I’ve looked *everywhere*.

  3. If those are antennae at the front, they look a bit too long to be an änger. There’s an amazing group on Facebook called ”Vilken insekt”, you can ask there if no one here knows!

  4. It looks like pälsängrar and they eat your clothes, especially wool if you have it out in the “open” (eg. the floor). They are a little disgusting but are common to have to deal with.

People are taking about mjölbaggar but I’ve had them and they are flatter and more rectangular.
