A number of political figures, including our own Sen. Kevin Cramer, have indicated that Pope Leo XIV is unqualified to comment on secular world affairs.
These people, some of them Catholic, have forgotten history. In 441 A.D. Atilla the Hun a.k.a. “The Scourge of God” invaded eastern Europe, brutally pillaging and plundering much of Eastern Europe. He decided to move on to western Europe starting with Rome in 452 A.D. Rome had no defense against this mobile killing machine, the Huns. Pope Leo I went out to meet Atilla, the power of God facing evil, what he said has never been recorded, but Atilla withdrew across the Danube to present day Hungary. He died there in 453 A.D., effectively ending his reign of terror.
Pope Leo XIV knows this story and knows his heritage. There is no way he will knuckle under to the president, vice president, or Sen. Cramer.
