Seems like the only reason for moving the internal elections is because De Wever wants to quit as chairman, but with no suitable replacement in 2023 (seems like he thought Van Peel could do it) he didn’t want to stay much longer so compromised for 2025.
Or he feels threatened that someone could win in the chairman election before the federal elections of 2024, but no clue how this could happen.

Strange that Van Peel and Parys won the “ondervoorzitter” elections less than a year ago, and now they’re both gone. Sadly 2 of the more moderate voices within N-VA are now lost. Something’s changing within the party, some kind of turmoil in their approach towards 2024?
