They don’t have the car. If someone pays that they’ll buy one.
The Rez in Cork is over 2,000 euro for 2 nights at the end of July, a Monday and Tuesday night.
Who the fuck would pay that for such a shitty hotel, if anyone is familiar with the small double rooms, the room is literally the size of the bed with a small bathroom, the only floor space is between the bathroom and the door
The auld lad that was on after her was more tragic
90 year old lad that had his pension raided by FG in 2009 and it hasn’t been rectified yet
Look at that shit. Is it any wonder people want to see change?
That’s like a months wages for Joe
I checked Herz there for the same dates and they have Fiestas available for about €1200 for the week.
I know rental cars have shot up in price but are people literally presenting the most expensive option as the typical price.
Better off buying a little banger
You’re paying for the convenience here. You could buy a car for 10 – 15k but that’s a lot of hassle if you’re only visiting for the week
It couldn’t be right. You’d get taxi drivers who would chauffeur you around the country for the week for less.
These have been posted several times recently. It’s beyond nuts.
But, who is paying that much to rent a car for a week. Someone obviously is or the prices would obviously drop. I can’t imagine regular normal renters are paying that much, so who is?
Obviously there’s a kg of cocaine in the boot, alongside a hooker
AFAIK, that quote was for an 8/9 seater, for a group of visitors
That’s absolutely mental. I rented a car out of knock for two weeks a few years ago and it cost me €150~
Unless he’s hiring the Rimac and the insurance found out he’s Richard Hammond I don’t think this is realistic.
With a lot of these things I assume the website has some pricing algorithm based on availability such that as availability approaches zero the price approaches infinity. What this should really say is “Sorry, there are no cars available for those dates”. But as it is, it’s easily gamed for outrage farming (not that Joe Duffy would ever do such a thing).
Wait till you see how much it costs to fill it with fuel .
Modern Ireland! A failure on every level.
Bargain
I thought tourism was our thing…. don’t we want people here??
It’s making a mockery of the country. Shameful.
I had a post on this about a month ago wondering what the story was, why it was so high? I couldn’t believe the costs. For 12 days I was being quoted between €4-€5k for a small, basic hatchback. (Though that was for an auto) That’s $7500 AUD which was more expensive than my flights home from Australia for 2 adults and a child! It got even more expensive when you add in a child seat. Luckily we don’t need accommodation. Looked at hotels out of curiosity and there’s fuck all available and what is, is just at scandalous pricing. As another poster mentioned, isn’t tourism our thing?
