ROME, N.Y. — A woman was taken into custody after resisting arrest during a late-night traffic stop involving a bicycle in Rome.
According to the Rome Police Department, officers stopped a female cyclist in the 100 block of West Embargo Street at around 11:47 p.m. on April 17.
Police said the woman, identified as Brigette A. Thien, 45, of Rome, did not provide her information and tried to leave while still on her bicycle.
Officers reported that Thien resisted arrest, leading to a call for additional patrol units before she was eventually taken into custody.
Thien was charged with resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration and a violation of New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
She was processed and released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court at a later date.
