The NEPLP said the sites spread one-sided coverage of Russia’s war in Ukraine. The move aims to protect Latvia’s information space and social cohesion.
The Latvian National Council for Electronic Media (NEPLP) has decided to restrict access to ten more internet resources that, according to the regulator, spread Russian propaganda.
Among the blocked sites are: pobedarf.ru, vgoroden.ru, orda-info.online, baikal-daily.ru, newsomsk.ru, gubdaily.ru, gorvesti.ru, volgadmin.ru, parmanews.ru, and pulse19.ru.
According to the regulator, these resources promote one-sided and biased information about Russia’s war in Ukraine, provide informational and public support for Russian troops operating in Ukraine, and foster a positive attitude toward Russia.

Sources and Context of the Regulator’s Actions
The regulator notes that such activity could negatively affect the cohesion of Latvian society, interethnic relations, the perception of values and residents’ belonging to a shared information space, as well as solidarity with Ukraine on matters of independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
NEPLP systematically blocks resources connected with Russia, including disinformation platforms and Yandex services. According to the regulator, as of August 2025 the number of blocked resources had exceeded 400.
Such steps reflect Latvia’s commitment to maintaining the security of the information environment and preserving the unity of the national information ecosystem.
