The Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Masoud Suleiman, discussed with the European Union’s (EU) Ambassador to Libya, Nicola Orlando, opportunities for European investment in oil and gas projects within Libya, as well as support for stability in the energy sector and ways to strengthen partnership between the two sides.

Suleiman said on his Facebook page on Tuesday that his discussions with the EU ambassador also addressed the importance of reducing pollution, protecting the environment, and promoting a shift toward clean energy as part of a shared responsibility to achieve sustainability.

He added that the meeting also reviewed the NOC’s efforts to enhance integrity and transparency, and to implement best practices in managing the sector, in a way that boosts confidence both locally and internationally.

Suleiman further noted that both sides stressed the importance of continuing coordination and cooperation to serve mutual interests, strengthen Libya’s role as a key energy supplier in the region, and support efforts aimed at achieving economic stability and sustainable development.
