TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— In celebration of Earth Day, the Earthlings Youth Group invited the community to take part in the “Show Your Mother Some Love” Climate March.

The purpose of the march was to bring the community together to celebrate Earth Day. Participants gathered at the Vigo County Public Library before marching down Poplar Street, ending with a speaker program at the courthouse. Attendees were encouraged to bring signs, wear green, and celebrate the planet in a positive and uplifting atmosphere.

“For everybody who may be worried about the future and who may think that climate change is too big an issue and we’ll never be able to solve it, I highly encourage people to still join organizations that help to fight it because once they do, I think that a lot of people find that this is a fightable issue,” Member Leif Speer said.

Earthlings is a youth-led group focused on environmental stewardship, education, and community engagement. To learn more about the group, you can visit their Facebook page.
