I searched for the resources to answer this question but I didn’t get the exact information I’m looking for.
I came across the below course link to IU that mentioned the study type as Online with a Tuition fee of EUR 75/month:

The Admission section mentioned the below point in its Academic Requirements:
Proof of eligibility to study at a university in Germany.
That confused me a little bit. Does this mean I need to be located in Germany to pursue this degree online?
Also, is it even possible to do a degree (taught in English language) completely online from a German university for free/limited tuition fees while living in your home country? I saw from other posts that IU kinda offers such degrees. But is that true or is there a catch?
But honestly, it also sounds too good to be true – being able to do a degree from a German uni for a little bit of Tuition fee (eg < 100 EUR per month) while living in the comfort your own country.
Am I missing something?
