These just hit shelves in the United States. Curious about a Belgian’s take on them?

  1. They *look* Liège-style, but it’s impossible for us to say if they taste like ’em. Can’t really see the texture either.

  2. It says Liège-style which in this case means they “look” like ’em but other than that are completely different.

    Marketing bullshit spewing bastards.

  3. These are most probably not available here in Belgium, there’s a lot of brands in the US which refer to Belgium using the words Belgium style this or that. Mostly leads to disappointment, lol. Specially in regard to so called Belgium style beers that are available.
In general candy’s, cookies, chocolates and pastries are close to horrible in the US. Same goes for the majority of beers that are being hyped up in micro breweries. To find decent food is close to impossible unless one can afford to pay exuberant prices.
In certain places in the US Coca-Cola is cheaper than water, so, sugar is more important than taste. Europe is a little more discrete with adding sugar to whatever consumables.

  4. Ughh buttery maple and (most likely very fake) strawberry filling…

Why do you guys always use food as a device to put extra sugar in your mouths?

  5. Ignore my critical fellow Belgian puritans. It’s. Not authentic and has nothing to do with Belgium but might taste decent.

  6. They look like Liège waffles, so that’s something. The flavours – especially strawberry – seem a little dodgy to me, though. Do they also offer a ‘plain’ one, so without strawberry, buttery maple or whatever other kind of added flavour?

  7. It looks like it could be a liége waffle. But Eggos aren’t available here. So there is no way we could say if it tastes anything like the good stuff. I do hope they taste decent tho, since it carries our name.

  8. Ah yes, the perfect on the go breakfast for kids
    > Simply thaw these delicious Liege-Style waffles and enjoy in the car on the way to school or work, as a snack after a long day or as a late night treat. So delicious you can’t just L’Eggo!

  9. They only look shaped like Liege ons, but as you can tell from the packaging they are nothing like them. Fucking Strawberry filling of all things..

  10. It looks like a Liégeois waffle, but looks can be deceiving… It’s weird to add stuffing though, Liégeois waffles are best au naturel, just the waffle, nothing else on/in them… And fresh from the iron!

  11. It probably has as much in common with a liege waffle as a frozen pizza has with a freshly baked italian pizza. If its not baked freshly, it aint the real thing. Especially not when its stuffed.

  12. Yo fellow Belgians. For claiming to be a tolerant and open people you all sure ass hell act as assholes. It’s not because we lack a solid national identity that we have to go full nazi on the small things we do have. It makes me ashamed to be from this country.

  13. More concerned about the butchering of the word Liege. Prepare for a lot of Americans walking the city in a few years time calling it ‘lie-gee’, just like the waffle!

  14. Probably sucks balls. I lived in the states for 10 years, they put Belgian infront of anything to make it sound gourmet. Had a bunch of “Belgian” waffles there, pretty mediocre. Then you will find so many “Belgian” chocolates… that were made in michigan.. xD

    So hard pass on these
