I’d never heard of *The Grayzone* before this but looking at most of the stories on the front page it looks like another one of Putin’s mouthpieces. The vast majority of the stories are in someway attacking Ukraine. It’s outrageously blatant. One would have to question /u/MoneyEqual for posting this at all.
That’s interesting, I remember him from Channel 4 news.
If there is any truth in this, it could explain the ‘pile-on’ that would result in saying anything not 100% supportive of Ukraine or Zelenskyy. However there is also massive western media propaganda around the Russia-Ukraine war.
Honestly, I wish someone else would cover these email leak stores that Grayzone do.
Grayzone’s rep is past the toilet, through the U-bend, and on its way to a British river as I type.
But the content is damned interesting. Just shouting “PUTIN! PUTIN! PUTIN!” is no rebuttal.
The TLDR, as far as I can tell, is that Mason believes the grayzone to be a paid for russian asset and has been working to deplatform it. Because several prominent anti-war left MPs and activists are in its orbit, and therefore suspected of being on the take, momentum types are now trying to burn Paul to the ground.

Disappointed to see Emma Briant mixed up in this, as her [reporting on Cambridge Analytica](https://www.opendemocracy.net/en/opendemocracyuk/as-cambridge-analytica-and-scl-elections-shut-down-scl-groups-defence-work-needs-re/) was one of the few pieces to touch on the wider implications of SCL’s involvement with several governments, including our own.
Overall, I’d say the article is worth a read, holding your nose, just for Mason’s alleged [network diagram of foreign influence](https://nitter.net/pic/orig/media%2FFUkzsKpWAAAg8kk.jpg), if nothing else.
