How’s Belfast international looking these days? I’m flying out in a few weeks.
Are you allowed to bring food through security? Ie like those premade lunches from Aldi wraps sambo’s? Couldn’t be arsed taking out a small credit union to have some breakfast before I jet off
Went through friday morning at 6 am. 45 mins from the entrance until i was through security
I’m flying out on a Thursday at the end of the month on a 7am flight. How early should I get there?
Going Sunday morning at 8.30 from T2 and need to check a bag. Thinking of arriving for 5am. Enough time?
Booked fast track for the honeymoon next month, just wondering how it works, has anyone been through it?
Also we have bags to check in , so do we still go to the drop off desks first and THEN fast track?
Oh damn, is it bad again?
Went on the weekend there and the line for Burger King was worse than the queue for security. Check in online before then when ya get there putting your bag through took 10 mins and security 20 mins max and this was for a 7amish flight
I’m flying on Saturday at 7.15am and have to check a bag. Thinking of aiming for 4am, is it still very bad weekend mornings?
Girlfriend went through T2 last Monday – trans Atlantic flight. Was relatively smooth queue wise but I’ve no idea how well-trained the additional security staff are or if she was just horribly unlucky from what she told me.
She does quite a lot of film photography and she ended up with a weapon of a security attendee who flat out refused to hand check her clear plastic bag of film rolls and shoved them through the x-ray. Girlfriend was already quite upset leaving for other reasons and this just put her over the edge, broke down in tears and no matter how she explained why this isn’t usually done with film she was met with what sounds like complete arrogance and ineptitude.
“Sure it’ll be exposed to more radiation on the plane than it will here”
I don’t even know where to begin with that other than it’s obviously somebody who hasn’t a single notion what their job actually is. I’ve been through numerous airports/museums/places with x-ray machines with her and this is the first time somebody has ever had an issue with being asked to hand check film.
And of course when she reached American pre-clearance security and asked them to do the same it was back to how it should be and “certainly, mam.”
Suffice to say I’m trying to figure out if she has any grounds for recompense for the 150 quid worth of film that’s been ruined, not hopeful though. The photos and memories are destroyed either way because of some poorly trained idiot with a power complex.
Have a 5am flight on Thursday morning. Am aiming to arrive at 3am. Should I be going earlier?
Also, are PCR tests still required? Have two nervous passengers with me, any advice would be appreciated.
Travelling to Portugal then connection to Brazil.
Was in Terminal 2 this morning. Checked in online. Bag drop and security only took about 30 minutes. Had arrived 4.5 hours early
Sitting in T2 now. Spoke to a few staff up front who were clueless. Told me I had to queue at check in to check a bag. Had checked in online etc and ignored them and did the normal bag drop by machine. Security was about 15 mins, clearly lots of new staff but pretty easy. Scenes at Burger King with a new guy struggling to pour a beer. A 12 year old kid from the US saw him struggling and gave him a lesson in how to angle the cup and keep it close to the tap. Line to order was long AF with hardly any staff. So yeah, BK was the only issue.
I have a shampoo that I need that isn’t prescribed, but only comes in a 125ml bottle, is it okay to just pour it into an empty 100ml plastic bottle to meet the <=100ml requirements? Seems like it should be fine, just don’t want to cause any issues with the other bottle being unlabelled or whatever.
I arrived in T2 yesterday and there was a queue going all the way back to the car rental area, what’s that all about? Is it the queue to the security clearance?
Not about security but apparently anything about Dublin Airport goes here. What are the queues like a food places? Should I bring a sambo considering the length of time needed to get through, or are the queues manageable?
