Amid the drama at this year’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner (a gunman getting arrested mid-magic trick; RFK Jr. leaving his wife behind to fend for herself), we didn’t get much time to review the hard-core MAGA fashion on display during the first half of the evening. Thankfully, one look has cut through the noise: The wife of secretary of war Pete Hegseth arrived at the dinner in what appeared to be a Temu dress.
Jennifer Rauchet posed with Hegseth on the red carpet prior to the dinner, wearing a one-shoulder Champagne cocktail dress with a satin belt and rhinestone appliqué. While you might have assumed this is just what someone affiliated with the Republican party might consider appropriate for an upscale event, one user on X matched it to a Temu page. “pete hegeseth’s wife wore a dress from temu to the white house correspondents dinner (i’m not joking),” they posted, including a screenshot of what seems to be the original listing on Temu.

While the dress now shows up as “discontinued” on the Temu website, there are identical versions on several of Temu’s fellow drop-shipping fashion sites, including Amazon and AliExpress (where it’s also sold in black).
To be fair, Rauchet could feasibly have been wearing a less fast-fashion-y dress that was ripped off by Temu. Still, it would be a bold choice for a woman whose husband has accused China of “building an army specifically designed to destroy the U.S.” I guess Dolce & Gabbana didn’t have any more samples to loan out?
