‘An investigation revealed the accused youth was in the victims’ residence without permission, assaulted an adult, and assaulted a child,’ police said

A teen faces charges after police said they assaulted two people while being unlawfully in a residence.

Last Tuesday at around 12:30 p.m., a 911 caller reported an unwanted person in a home in the 300 block of Lake Street.

“An investigation revealed the accused youth was in the victims’ residence without permission, assaulted an adult, and assaulted a child,” Sault Ste. Marie Police said in a news release.

Police say the adult had minor physical injuries.

The victims and accused know each other.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty.

The youth’s name is not being released in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
