The Large Scale Events Support Scheme (LSESS), administered by Festivals Malta, provides funding to support the development and delivery of high-quality, large-scale events in Malta between 2026 and 2027. The scheme is designed to enhance the cultural and entertainment landscape while contributing to a vibrant night-time economy, in line with the Malta Music & Night Time Economy Strategy.
Through a competitive application process, Festivals Malta is seeking experienced delivery partners to plan, programme, produce, market, and execute events featuring internationally recognised artists. Supported events are expected to meet high professional standards and deliver measurable public value, offering engaging cultural experiences and a strong feel-good factor for the Maltese population.
The scheme is structured across three strands:
Strand 1: Malta Live Events featuring A-list artists
Strand 2: Malta Live Events featuring B-list artists
Strand 3: Large-scale events featuring renowned international artists
LSESS aims to support events that demonstrate:
Fair and professional engagement practices
Workforce development and skills transfer
Inclusive access and clear audience communication
Responsible sound management and community awareness
Contribution to after-dark cultural activity
Promotion and visibility of the Maltese islands
Applications are evaluated by an independent committee against established criteria. While meeting the eligibility requirements is mandatory, it does not guarantee funding.
Applications close on Friday, 15 May 2026 at noon. Events supported through this scheme must take place between 2026 and 30 December 2027.
