Eight students from the Southern England School of Karate (S.E.S.K), based in Romford, Hornchurch, and Collier Row, competed in the Malta International Open and the third WKA World Championships.
The team, part of the EUKA federation, spent more than a year preparing for the events and returned with six medals after four days of competition.
One student, Ekamkar, secured third place at the Malta International Open. Another, Rupert, placed second in his division at the WKA World Championships.

Navneet delivered a standout performance, placing second in her individual category at the Malta Open before stepping into a team event, which she was only informed about on the day and helping secure a gold medal.
She then took third in her individual event at the WKA World Championships and claimed another team gold, earning the title of world champion. Navneet competed in the cadets section at just 12 years old.
Sensei Nathan Harper from Southern England School of Karate said: “All of the students showed great determination and spirit.”
He added: “Their instructors could not be prouder of their achievements. This is only the beginning for the club.”
S.E.S.K operates classes from Monday to Thursday across multiple venues, including North Romford Community Centre, Hylands Primary School, Holy Cross Church, Hacton Lane Social Club, and Atam Academy.
