  1. I paid 198.9p/l three weeks ago for Shell V power, not anywhere near a motorway or anything. Felt like I’d been violated.

It’s about time for a serious cut in VAT.

  2. Such as mass investment in public transport like Germany have announced?

Ah no of course not, best not tackle the long term causes!

  3. it’s very often cheaper way to travel than other transport methods such as train, so if radical intervention is required for cars, what are they doing about rip-off train prices?

  4. Radical methods! Yes!

    Walkable towns and cities!

    Medium density housing!

    Bike infrastructure!

    Congestion charging!

    Ebike finance!

    Massive investment in public transport!

    Bus lanes!

Massive cuts in public transport prices!

    15mph urban speed limits!

    Trams!

    Local shops!

    LTNs!

    Car-free days!

[Edit] Real energy independence is independence **from** energy. The fact that people *need* cheap fuel just to live their day to day is a damning indictment of the epic stupidity of the system we’ve built.

  5. It’s still not high enough to discourage people from pulling up outside my house with the engine running for 10-20 minutes.

  6. Nah, we’ll just do tax cuts.

What do you mean you aren’t effected by dividend tax cut or corporation tax cut?

    Shoulda been born richer.
