Fifa World Cup 2022: Wales fans fear being priced out

  1. Yes, going to a World Cup will be very expensive.

On the 5% allocation, I swear I read stuff like that before every tournament and then at the match it’s like 90% fans. Is it just the allocation to the respective FAs, and much of the rest will be in general sale?

  2. “My fear is – and what the fans suspected – this is becoming the millionaire’s World Cup,”

    Well done, Sherlock.

Just a reminder that this World Cup has been wrapped up in corruption from the very start over a decade ago.

Not only have people been bribing, accepting bungs, money laundering, cheating votes…causing thousands of hours of investigations, resulting in many of FIFA’s most powerful men removed from their positions.

We mustn’t forget the World Cup was originally scheduled for a summer event during the bidding process. However, they couldn’t build the promised air conditioned stadiums, so was rescheduled that to a winter event AFTER winning the vote to a winter World Cup bid.

The stadiums being built in the mean time have resulted in persistent accusations of human rights violations by Amnesty International.

They claim migrant workers had their passports taken away and were working for a pittance, in dangerous jobs, costing thousands of lives to make this event happen.

But yeah, Welsh fans, are the biggest losers on the planet from all of this. Poor bloke.

  3. Perhaps the high prices plus the small matter of 37 worker deaths linked to stadium construction should give these fans pause.
