I’m not affiliated to SBB. The update pop up on my phone and wanted to share so people are less surprised with the future update. Keep in mind it’s a preview and beta app with bugs.
I really like the new design but they removed a pretty important feature to me (the ability add a train as a recurring trip) so I’ll stick with the current app.
Don’t care what it looks like. But I want them to change this: I used to buy tickets that were instantly valid. Now somehow I have to be super careful to select the right connection and get on the right train. For travel around Zurich this is just plain stupid. The ticket it valid for 2 hours (!) and all the selected zones. Why does it matter if I start my trip with train x at 14:06 and not train y at 14:02? Sorry. Off topic rant.
I hope they will keep the easter egg of the app
Question to those wo have the preview app installed and can already try out the new version: Did they delete the „take me home“ button or am I blind?
Nice, Beni Frenkel is already writting an article to bash this
I’m too stupid for that? Why is it easier to charger an EV by app then booking a damn train ticket?
I do not hate it. It definitely looks nicer and more modern than before. Not sure if I’m a fan of the illustrations. Also the “Trips” screen is rather empty unless you add a lot of journeys. feels like there is some wasted space.
It was probably inevitable to remove some features with such a drastic redesign and simplification. But the modularity of the old app was something that I liked about it. You could have a button to take you home, which is gone now. You could have departure boards for your current as well as specific locations. This one was pretty interesting, while maybe not very heavily used. Now I don’t see a way to get all departurews in any direction in the app. Buying day passes has gotten more difficult as there is no designated button/section for it anymore.
These probably aren’t the only features that were removed. But to be honest, the features that I use on the regular are the toich time table, easy ride, and the digital swiss pass. As long as they are all there, I’m happy. I’m a huge fan of the touch time table actually.
As long as they don’t fix those stupid timeouts I don’t care.
I hope they dont remove the easter egg
Is it still gonna be as modular as now where I can adjust everything exactly to my liking and demand? Because that is a big plus right now. You can either use it as you downloaded it or you can change orders, what you want to see and similiar.
I hope one day we will finally be able to select a journey and if we have some subscriptions on it it automatically substrates the subscribed areas.

Love the illustrations. Quite unique art style. All you see nowadays is freaking [undraw.co](https://undraw.co/illustrations).
Edit: Just tried it — love the fluidness of the animation. Feels faster than before.
You can try it by installing the SBB Preview App on [Android](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ch.sbb.mobile.android.preview) or [iOS](https://apps.apple.com/ch/app/sbb-preview/id1074833098)

Life changing. Thank you for bringing this up.
Watson did a pretty comprehensive review:
