From the opening blast of Firecracker to the concluding number Wrong Side of the Tracks, the album’s mix of hook-heavy melodies and high-speed riffs still hits just as hard today.
Fun fact: The title is an amalgamation of Bob Dylan’s song Subterranean Homesick Blues and a phrase (Teenage Wasteland) from the song Baba O’Riley by The Who.
Across 10 albums and countless tours, Strung Out have built a reputation as one of the most explosive live bands in punk rock – loud, tight and direct.
On their upcoming tour in September, they will play Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues, alongside favourites from across the band’s catalogue.
New Gods and White Owls from their latest album Dead Rebellion, which was released in 2024, as well as Velvet Alley, Blueprint of the Fall, Too Close To See, Matchbook and Kiwi favourite Exhumation of Virginia Madison have graced recent setlists.
Over the years, Strung Out’s catalogue has grown to balance aggression and sophistication, showcasing a band unafraid to push the boundaries of punk while staying true to its core intensity.
Known for their electrifying live performances, Strung Out have toured relentlessly, earning a reputation as one of punk’s most dynamic live acts. Their shows are high-energy, technically precise, and built to get audiences moving from start to finish.
Even after decades on the road, Strung Out remain committed to evolving their sound while delivering the intensity and passion that have defined them from the beginning.
Last time Strung Out were here, shows sold out, showing their popularity.
