You know WW2 was fucked up when one nation’s soldiers had one race refusing to fight alongside another race or even drink in the same establishment, that nation had internment camps for a third rave (well, nationality really) where people died, there are undoubted stories of that nation’s soldiers shooting surrendered POWs… and that nation is **still** unanimously recognized (even by the other side) as the good guys in the conflict. Because the Nazis were really just that evil!
And the “good guy points” even transferred to other theaters! Like, America dropped nukes on two populated cities and a few years later the Japanese **still** acknowledged “you know what? We kinda had that coming”.
I swear, I don’t think there’s ever been a war like it, before or since.

Propaganda. They didn’t show how they raped many many European women. Same for all the other allies, Germans and Soviets of course. It’s war, ugly things happen. But this foto couldn’t be further form the truth

God bless these brave men who were thrust into this difficult situation (of saving the world against ill willed irresponsible men) and were able to come out on top despite the odds. I hope for future generations that things won’t escalate like things did back then.
