Out of the European countries tested, only in Poland people who think the most important thing is to bring justice for the Russian invasion of Ukraine outnumber those who consider it to be preserving peace

  1. How am I not surprised to see Italy in the “Peace” Majority…

For those who do not know, for many Italians, Peace in the Ukraine war means the following: “Ukraine, lay down and let Russia rape you, that way we can all be happy”.

To quote the words of a professor (Orsini) who has become the star of Italian moron pacifists: War is Bad, Ukraine must surrender because Russia is Powerful.

  2. Why am I not surprised Italy is first….

All the polls regarding Italy for years have shown (not unlike Greece) that a huge chunk of their voters would sell their mother to the devil if this means a better economy.

Same goes for Spain – which has only 15% in the justice camp (they just say “swing” instead of “peace”), they are the No.1 fans of Erdogan whenever sanctions/measures are on the table against him beause they don’t want to lose their sweet trade deals with Turkey…

  3. What was the question or questions?

Do the people from the peace camp mean that Ukraine should make peace at any cost or that Ukraine should get every support so they can make peace on their conditions?

What does justice mean? Does it mean that we should fight russia until it is destroyed? Or does it mean that we should support Ukraine until they dictate the condition for peace?

And what the fuck are swing voters in this case?

  4. Italy and Germany don’t surprise me, they are usually alligned countries (I think I already saw this kinds of alignment mmm… can’t really remember when).

Romania is kinda unexpected, I thought their proximity with Russia would make them more like Poland or Finland, but I hope some Romanians will explain to me why it’s not like this.

  5. Sounds like they think if you choose justice then it means war for 1000 years lol

I mean, how do you get the justice if the war is still ongoing?

  6. I think wanting peace is the greatest things about EU/NATO. If we were eager to fight our enemies and were just waiting for an opportunity, we would already be in WWIII. And in that case NATO would be that dangerous and threatening alliance that Putin wants the rest of the world to think we are.

  7. In Italy, Russian propaganda is having devastating effects, endorsed by politicians and intellectuals colluding with the Kremlin

  8. This sounds so vague, what do they mean with justice? If they mean Ukraine keeping it’s territorial integrity then that’s pretty reasonable. If they mean overthrowing the Russian government so we can Nuremberg Putin and his cronies, then that sounds pretty unrealistic

  9. Imho these group definitions are very weird. I seriously could not completely agree with either. This war should not be about punishment for Russia, that would be 19th century thinking. Neither should we strive for Ukraine to give concessions.

I am in the camp of “don’t fucking decide for Ukraine what they should do”. If they deem the losses too high then it is their right to make concessions for peace (*if* Russia accepts it), if they want to keep fighting for THEIR country then let them, and help as it is rightful by UN law. The only red line there would be an invasion of Russian territory.

  10. The questions seem very leading in my opinion

What does justice mean dies it mean Ukraine pushing into Russia?

What does peace mean would peace mean a simple peace treaty Russia keeps no land but doesn’t have to pay anything

If I would have tk decide between Ukraine pushing into Russia and a status quo peace treaty (to land post or gained) I would want the peace treaty

  11. What does “swing voters” mean in the context of 1 metric expressed at 1 point in time?

Something tells me that these numbers are the result of attributing certain opinions to people based on certain pseudo-related information.
