BAINBRIDGE Ga. (WCTV) – Getting patients in and out faster at Memorial Hospital and Manor in Bainbridge and officials say it’s all because of their fast track system.
The hospital initially implemented the fast track system back in December, allowing patients urgent care for minor issues while freeing up space and resources for more serious medical needs.
ER Manager Amy Anderson said the average length of stay in the fast track is about one third to half that of the emergency room’s numbers.
Another big component to this for the hospital is reducing the rate of those not being seen left, which Anderson said has been cut in half and the wait times significantly lower than before.
More new out of South Georgia:
“It’s been a big help for staff because it takes some of the burden off staff out there and, like I said, it takes some of the burden off patients as well the ones that are here for minor things don’t have to wait as long the ones that are here for more critical things don’t have to get more attention and that helps the staff in itself just because it helps creates an area for each,” Anderson said.
Anderson said they are seeing about 15 patients a day, she also mentioned that their fast track area initially started off with three chairs and officials have already added a fourth to continue serving more people.
