PARIS, Texas (KLTV) – Former Rains Wildcat Nick Bowman threw a complete-game, five-inning shutout in Paris Junior College’s 5-0 win over Tyler Junior College (TJC) on Saturday.
TJC won the second game 17-10.
In the first game, Bowman pitched five innings, allowing no runs on three hits while striking out six and walking one. Bowman (2-1) has a 4.11 ERA in 35 innings this season. For TJC, Hallsville’s Sawyer Dunagan and Whitehouse’s Garrett Hayes each had a hit. In the second game, Bullard’s Ben Coke went 1-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. In the ninth inning, Coke hit a three-run home run, scoring Tyler Legacy’s Landon Miller and Carthage’s Noah Paddie. Paddie went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs. In the first inning, Paddie hit a single, scoring Chase Fuentes. In the third inning, Paddie hit a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Fuentes. Miller went 2-for-4 with two runs, while Dunagan went 1-for-3 with two runs. Canton’s Nathan Parker pitched 1 2/3 innings, allowing two hits.
TJC (32-20, 18-12) plays San Jacinto on Thursday in the NJCAA Region 14 South regional, while Paris (32-19, 16-14) plays Blinn.
