Even if these were ‘new’ hospitals we can’t even staff the ones we currently have. Been working in the NHS for 6 years and we’ve had trouble filling clinical vacancies during that whole period, but in the last 12 months we can’t even fill band 2 admin posts at my trust. Up until this time last year I’d get 40-80 applications for band 2 or 3 posts – now vacancies end up going to advert multiple times before the post being scrapped and the work divided up amongst the rest of the team. Not sustainable for much longer.
He pledged them, he uses this synonymously with actually building them.
You see, it wasn’t 40 brand new hospitals, but also included 39 hospitals that they were considering shutting down at some point in the future.
We don’t need a probe into the 40 hospitals.
Anyone with half a brain, knew it was bullshit the minute it came out of Johnson’s mouth.
Lets not pretend we have been waiting around expecting these hospitals to appear before our very eyes- we all knew it was bullshit and these hospitals were never going to appear.
