In May, further sanctions against Russia are expected for its recruitment of migrants from North African and Middle Eastern countries to participate in the war against Ukraine.
This was stated by Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky in a Telegram post. He noted that Britain has imposed sanctions on 35 individuals and entities linked to the production of Russian drones and the recruitment of foreign nationals to manufacture drones and participate in the war against Ukraine. By fraudulent methods, they sent citizens from North African and Middle Eastern countries to the front. Our intelligence services have long studied this issue, so this month there will be new decisions in this direction, and further sanctions steps from the United Kingdom.

On May 5, the British government introduced additional restrictions on individuals and entities that recruit migrants to participate in Russia’s war against Ukraine and supply components for drones, confirmed by official statements.
