Here are Tuesday’s updates for Israel, Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, Iran and the Middle East:

■ U.S. President Donald Trump declined to define what would constitute an Iranian violation of the cease-fire, saying only: “You’ll find out, because I’ll let you know,” while also saying Iran “knows what not to do,” that it wants a deal and is “trying to survive.” He added that the U.S. blockade of the Strait of Hormuz has been “amazing” and “nobody’s going to challenge the blockade.”

■ Senior U.S. officials said there is now a “lane of safe passage” for commercial shipping through Hormuz, warned Iran it would face “overwhelming firepower” if it attacks shipping, and said maritime traffic through the strait is expected to increase in the coming days.

■ An Israeli source told CNN that Israel and the United States are coordinating a potential new round of strikes on Iran, which could target energy infrastructure and senior officials.

■ Democratic lawmakers urged the Trump administration to publicly recognize Israel’s undeclared nuclear weapons program, according to a Washington Post report, warning of escalation risks amid regional tensions.

■ The United States is set to lift sanctions on Eritrea in a move linked to Red Sea shipping routes and regional realignments, according to a U.S. government document cited by Reuters.

■ UAE authorities said air defenses are intercepting missile and drone attacks they attribute to Iran, while also imposing temporary airspace restrictions and warning of GPS interference.

■ At least three Palestinians, including a child, were killed in Israeli strikes in Gaza, according to health officials, amid continued violence despite the cease-fire framework.

■ IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir said Israel is maintaining “high alert” and closely monitoring developments in the Persian Gulf, warning it is prepared to respond “forcefully” to any attempt to harm Israel.

Outgoing Israeli Air Force commander Tomer Bar said the full picture of October 7 would only be understood after an “external and objective” commission of inquiry, calling it “vital” for the military and the public.

■ British counterterrorism police are investigating a suspected arson attack at a former synagogue in east London, after CCTV indicated the fire was started deliberately minutes before emergency services arrived.
