After a long break from competition, Moroccan fighter Ambar made a statement return to the ring on May 2, with a strong performance to defeat Manel Chekri at the Night Of The Champs IV event in Hemiksem.

This comeback was her first appearance after a period away from competition, and she wasted no time proving she hasn’t lost her touch.

Ambar’s absence from the sport came down to an injury and academic commitments. But she stayed focused behind the scenes, continuing to train and rebuild her condition.

Working between Morocco and Belgium, she sharpened her technique and improved her physical preparation, gradually building toward a return that clearly paid off.

When she stepped back into competition, the results spoke for themselves: a convincing win that immediately put her back on the radar.

Moroccan presence in Belgium

The event saw a strong Moroccan presence alongside Ambar.

Another rising talent, Douae Darras, travelled from Morocco to Belgium to make her debut, working under coach Reda. Her arrival is an important step in her own career.

The two fighters had trained together during camps in Morocco, including sessions at Rabat Fight Club and preparation work at Delta Energie. That shared experience translated into real support on fight night, with Douae offering encouragement and last-minute advice before Ambar’s bout.

Veteran figure Mustapha Laksem was also present, supporting both athletes and adding further weight to the moment.

This is one more proof of the growing presence of Moroccan talent in international combat sports, with fighters from Morocco now increasingly building experience across European platforms while staying closely connected to their roots.

With her comeback now complete, Ambar already has her next challenge lined up. She is expected to compete at the upcoming “Fight Beyond Limits” gala, an event that could draw around 2,000 spectators.

It represents another step forward in her return to competition and potentially another opportunity to build momentum after a successful comeback.
