Anecdotal (family that works in other Brussels hospital). Healthcare personnel, not trained nurses but the staff that does the bedside washing etc is often refusing due to religious reasons.
Uniquely monotheistic religions in this case.
PS: wether they actually believe in it or use it as an excuse is irrelevant, the result is the same.
Cant wait to see these people automatically fired in a few months. Should have implemented it as of today but oh well.
Brussels being Brussels.
There are good reasons most Flemish don’t, and have never, during their lifetimes, considered Brussels as part of Flanders despite history.
Ah crap, that’s my regular hospital
People with a sense of duty and the freedom of expression working and expressing themselves?
A hospital has a lot of people doing non-caregiving stuff. Delivering meals, moving stuff from one floor to another, paperwork… It is a huge logistical machine.
So just because you work at a hospital, doesn’t mean you know anything about medicine or healthcare. In fact, due to the low skilled nature of these jobs, often less than average.
Doctors and nurses tend to treat these people somewhat… harshly and dismissively. But they are a fairly large group and they are often resentful of the caregiving staff. And because of that resentment and stubbornness, they will often oppose the vaccine just to feel like they are in control.
The number of nurses who are against vaccines are a tiny, tiny minority.
Ah yes, those extreme right nurses.
Ah but when brussels hospitals overflow and they sent patients to Flanders we of course happily accept them.
Ik kies mijn vrienden zelf.
Healthcare personnel, untrained nurse or housekeeping. It doesn’t matter what these people’s function is. They are HUMAN, just like you are. Everyone has the right to speak their minds. There were +- 35000 other people, does your narrow mind really think there was not a single educated, respected person?
Seriously your shallow, privileged mindset is far more dangerous then the Corona virus.
Very nice, in Belgium we call this freedom of speech.
**As a *professional* healthcare worker**, it’s your duty to get vaccinated. It is your job to make people better, not possibly infect them with a highly possible worse outcome.
Although I understand if people (in any branch) are hesitant or downright refusing it because of being super sick/had a heavy allergic reaction first (two) time(s).
Just people who don’t like the fact that we are forced to take experimental vaccins?
