Defense contractor Lockheed Martin and Lithuania’s Ministry of National Defence have unveiled Lithuania’s first High Mobility Artillery Rocket System launchers during a ceremony held in at the company’s site in Camden.

The HIMARS system is a mobile rocket platform capable of carrying multiple types of precision-guided munitions. According to company officials, the system currently has a range of up to 300 kilometers, with additional munitions in development expected to extend that capability beyond 499 kilometers.

The platform can be configured to carry Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System rockets, Precision Strike Missiles or Army Tactical Missile System missiles and is compatible with the broader MLRS family of weapons.

Lockheed Martin officials say HIMARS is currently used by 14 NATO and partner nations and is designed to integrate with allied military operations.

During the ceremony, representatives from Lithuania and Lockheed Martin also signed a joint statement intended to strengthen cooperation in security, defense and industrial development. Officials say the agreement includes exploring future industrial opportunities between the organizations.

The unveiling comes as international demand for advanced artillery systems continues to grow.
