“If President Donald Trump decides to reduce the American military presence in Germany, then we in Poland are ready to host American soldiers,” Karol Nawrocki said during NATO exercises in Lithuania.

He added that Poland already has “ready infrastructure” for such a move.

“I think the task of the President of Poland, for the sake of Poland, and also for the sake of all of Europe, is to convince President Donald Trump that, having made such a decision regarding the number of troops in Germany, he should leave these soldiers in Europe, that is, in Poland, in one of the Baltic countries, or in another region,” Nawrocki stated.

This position was also supported by Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda.

“First of all, we want American soldiers to remain in Europe. It is important that Washington continues to pay attention to the region, so NATO allies must do everything to prevent the United States from turning away from Europe,” he said.

Nausėda assured that his country is ready to host more allied forces, adding that he expects 5,000 German troops to be stationed in Lithuania by the end of 2027. Currently, more than 1,000 American troops are in Lithuania.
