GEORGIA (WTOC) – WTOC has learned the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) is monitoring two residents who returned home from the MV Hondius, the cruise ship at the center of a hantavirus outbreak.

“The individuals are currently in good health and show no signs of infection,” a Georgia DPH spokesperson said to WTOC.
The two residents are following recommendations and procedures from the CDC.
WTOC followed up and asked where specifically the people being monitored live, exactly what protocols are being followed, and whether the people are being quarantined. The spokesperson responded they could not give any additional information.
