   IDK foreign spies sometimes come here and ask how to learn language before their trip, presumably it results in something at times

5. I was hoping to get that good before I visited.

   Didn’t come close. But at least I could say “Es gandrīz nerunāju Latviski.”

6. When I’ll visit I may ask something in Latvian or understand signs, but I very likely won’t understand the answer
