Israel’s wars in Lebanon and Iran have failed to meet the objectives that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu set for them: Hamas remains armed in Gaza, Hezbollah has not been destroyed, and the Islamic Republic remains standing. Netanyahu had hoped that by now – and through these wars – he would have turned the tables and rehabilitated himself politically after the disaster of October 7. That has not happened.
