Maybe off topic, but how is Draghi’s popularity in Italy? As a non Italian I view him as one of the best leaders Italy has had in a long time. I’m interested how the average Italian thinks of him.

They are on their way to convince Zelensky to give Putin some of the territories and conclude a truce because fuel prices are too high for their constituents.
I perceive them as 3 Chamberlain’s of this conflict.
Scholz seems to be slowing delivery of weapons and ammunition. Macron and Draghi wants to solve it be negotiations.
Problem is there were so many negotiation efforts from Ukrainian side and very little from Russia.
Russia will never accept their forces backed from taken territory. Russia will not repay for war damages nor will it return life’s of so many killed civilians. They will never acknowledge their military caused rapes, tortures, mass deportations and killing of innocent people, war crimes.
Here is a deal I think Russia will push for: they will keep occupied territory, demand disarming Ukrainian military, not allowing them to join NATO or EU, possibly demanding new puppet government. Of course in few years they will go for another part of Ukrainian territory.

As expected the headline has attracted some criticism, in some ways justified but mostly unjustified.
Please note that Draghi and Macron are far saner than the alternatives. Draghi is basically the only serious Italian leader for decades, and the alternatives to Macron were either a far-right Russian puppet or a far-left tankie.
Scholz is probably the worst part of the German government, but the other two ruling parties aren’t bad. Furthermore, SPD is tanking in the polls. Germany’s commitment can only go in one direction.
