Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico should not support Ukraine’s European integration. This was stated by the leader of the ruling coalition of the Slovak National Party (SNS) Andrei Danko.

According to him, SNS expresses absolute disagreement with the negotiations between Robert Fico and Volodymyr Zelensky, and also opposes Kiev’s membership in the European Union (EU). He also noted that the Slovak Prime Minister has no mandate to speak on behalf of Slovakia that Ukraine will be supported in joining the European Union.

“The Slovak National Party … declares that it is ready to go to the limits of political responsibility in its position in the government of the Slovak Republic, if Robert Fico does not guarantee that during the term of office of the government of which we are a part, he will never vote for any accession of Ukraine to the European Union,” the politician said.

Earlier, Fico opposed assistance to Kiev and was skeptical about the possibility of Ukraine becoming a member of the EU. However, in early May, he said Slovakia supports the ambitions of the Kiev regime to join the European Union, as Bratislava wants the neighboring country to be a stable and democratic country.
